A unique and innovative franchise opportunity…
The Flyer Franchise is a publishing business that creates, prints and distributes a high quality, glossy publication. The Flyer is delivered monthly to every home and business within a defined territory. The distribution can vary between 6,000 – 14,000 copies per month depending on the area selected for the territory.
An established, proven business…
The first Flyer was launched in 1997 by Managing Director Adrian Bradshaw. “After many years in media sales it became clear there was a gap in the market for a truly local monthly publication. This became clear to me after a hugely successful start with the Felixstowe Flyer in Suffolk. I then wanted to try and see if the same idea would work in a very different town. 2003 saw the launch of the Woodbridge & District Flyer, again with a high level of success so I expanded into Kesgrave and, with business associate Jon Trotter, launched into a fourth area, Ipswich. All of these titles continue to grow into very successful businesses in their own right“.
What is involved?
How The Flyer works…
The Flyer generates income for franchisees through selling advertisements, sales and marketing messages for local, regional and national businesses and trades people. The Flyer offers a valuable source of local information
and features for the community it serves, so it is much more than just another local business directory.
What is it like?
Launching a new Franchise.
We make no secret of the fact that this is a new Franchise business and although the Franchise is based on a proven business model established over ten years, we set out to test key aspects of the Franchise approach through a limited twelve-month Pilot exercise. This has just concluded and has helped us make substantial improvements in our processes, systems and procedures that will benefit all future Franchisees. This initial demonstration pilot launched a completely new Flyer territory in Suffolk (covering the neighbouring towns of Hadleigh and Sudbury) and has shown the huge potential for launching the Flyer into new areas.
We make no secret of the fact that this is a new Franchise business and although the Franchise is based on a proven business model established over eleven years, we set out to test key aspects of the Franchise approach through a limited twelve-month Pilot exercise. This has now concluded and has helped us make substantial improvements in our processes, systems and procedures that will benefit all future Franchisees. This initial demonstration pilot launched a completely new Flyer territory in Suffolk (covering the neighbouring towns of Hadleigh and Sudbury) and has shown the huge potential for launching the Flyer into new areas. After an initial trial period we decided with the pilot franchisee to create two separate titles to cover this area and this has proven very popular with the local community and with local businesses and trades people. The two titles have gone from strength to strength.
Says Flyer Franchise Operations Director David King "it was a massive learning experience for everyone involved and the Flyer Franchise support team and the pilot Franchisee worked closely together to iron out the inevitable teething problems. A particularly important feature of the support provided during the pilot and now definitely included as a regular feature in our support package for all Franchisees are regular sales coaching and support sessions with the Flyer sales team to assist Franchisees build the customer base and secure new advertisers."
